FILMS FOR JUSTICE
Current Films
We are currently in production on two films-Waging Change about the challenges faced by restaurant servers trying to survive on a sub-minimum wage of $2.13 an hour and their efforts to organize for One Fair Wage, featuring Saru Jayaraman, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin. We are also producing a documentary about Congresswoman Barbara Lee called Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth to Power. Our most recent release is the award-winning documentary, And Then They Came for Us about the incarceration of 120,000 Japanese Americans and the fact that it is NOT a precedent for a Muslim ban or registry.
Agents of Change (co-produced and co-directed with Frank Dawson), is a compelling documentary about the black-led student protest movement of the late 1960’s and its impact on the creation of Black and Ethnic Studies programs across the country. Soft Vengeance: Albie Sachs and the New South Africa won a Peabody award in 2015 and has screened at film festivals around the world, winning four audience awards for Best Documentary. It was broadcast on public television in July, 2016.
